One “enters into” the wounds of Christ through a Eucharistic life. It is no coincidence that this pilgrimage of hope upon which the universal Church is set to embark during the Jubilee Year was preceded by the National Eucharistic Revival here in the United States. The Eucharist is healing for the sinner and strength for the journey. It sustains us, as hope does, in moving through this broken world toward our ultimate happiness: life with Christ in heaven.
In this new generation of the IRL, we must move forward boldly in living out the mystery of consecrated life. We must be fearless in admitting our brokenness. We must be confident in accepting the power of Christ to clean, dress, and heal our woundedness.
In this third generation of the IRL, we look forward with longing and hope!
